On the 15th August 2017 Ambassador Michael Biontino, Permanent Representative of Germany to the Conference on Disarmament, signed together with Ambassador Thomas Guerber, Director of the Geneva Center for “Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF)“, a grant agreement for an allocation of 980.000 Euros.

In the framework of the „enable and enhance initiative” of the German government, these contributions support the project „Increasing security sector accountability in Niger“. It aims at promoting and anchoring constitutional structures through a reform of the Nigerian security sector. The deep expertise of the DCAF shall enable various actors of the government and security sector in Niger to responsibly and reliably protect the Nigerian population.
